Sandra G. Gambill

URBANA, IL-  Sandra Gayle Gambill, 75, of Urbana, passed away at 4:16 PM, Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Zoar Primitive Baptist Church, 13479 N. County Road 150 East, Humboldt, IL, with burial at the Zoar church cemetery.   Elder Ed Waggle will officiate.  There will be a visitation from 6-8 PM, on Friday, May 19, at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, as well as, a visitation at the church on Saturday one hour before the funeral(10-11AM).  

Sandra was born July 6, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of Art and Ruby(Moran) Downs.  She married James Gambill in August of 1968 in Cincinnati.  He survives.  Also surviving is a brother, Bill of London, Kentucky and two sisters, Carole Downs and Debbie Wheat, both of Cincinnati, OH. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Gary Downs, Jack Downs and Harold Perkins.

Sandra graduated from school in Reading, Ohio, and worked as an Avon representative for over 20 years. She was a member of the Zoar Primitive Baptist Church in rural Humbolt.
