William "Bill" N. Gregory

William (Bill) N. Gregory, 70, of Urbana, IL, passed away on May 31st, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Bill was born on March 3rd, 1953, to Clyde and Betty (Norris) Gregory in Centralia, IL. After graduating from Centralia High School in 1971, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.

After graduating college, Bill worked for a Tandy Leather shop in St. Louis, MO, where he found his love for leather work. He moved to Urbana, IL, in 1980, and later began to work for a liquor distribution company and became a beer and wine salesman. Bill was also known for his love of music and had been playing in bands since he was a child in Centralia. 

Bill was best known for his love of his family, music, craft beer, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Betty. He is survived by his two sisters, Barbara and Jane, his wife of 33 years, Beth, his children Rick (Molly) Gregory and Ashley Gregory, and his granddaughter, Emma Lou.

At Bill’s request, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be Saturday, August 5th, at Tumble Inn, located in Champaign, IL, from 1pm until 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Prairie Organization or c/o The Gregory Family and send to Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana, IL.
