William “Billy” A. Shayka, passed in his sleep on March 25, 2025, at the age of 73.

He is survived by his son- Steven and daughter Casper.

Billy was loved by many in his lifetime. He knew how to make people laugh which came in handy as a photographer. Between childhood, Navy and 50 plus years as a photographer, Billy knew his way around a camera and was a teacher and mentor of photography. He shared his love of the guitars with Steve. Casper got his love of cars. Aside from being proud of his children, Billy was proud of his 20 plus years of sobriety. He left his mark on the world and will be dearly missed. A reception will be held on Sunday, April 6 from 1-3:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, IL 61802. Military Rites by Post 5520. Memorials may be made to any Veteran’s groups.
