Virgil “Bryan” Hart, 72, of Philo left for Heaven at 2:55 a.m. on
October 1, 2025 from his home.
He was born on September 4, 1953, in Vandalia, IL, the son of
Philip & Rosalie (Washburn) Hart. He married Vickie Willis on
May 25, 1979, in Newman, IL.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughter- Belinda (Josh)
White; grandchildren- Alyssa (Fred Ried) Stillabower and
Dustin (Nevaeh Murray) White; and the apple of his eye, Great
Grandson- Preston Adams; sisters- Sherrill (Chaz) Thomas,
Veronica Hart, Mitzi Hart; Father and Mother in law, Ted and
Mary Sandwell, Brother in laws- William (Aubrey) Campbell &
Scott Young; sister in laws- Michele (Brian) Kowalski & Lisa
(Troy David) Withrow as well as numerous nieces and nephews,
his extended family in Tennessee, and his beloved pups, James,
Sadie, and Ranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother -Terrill Hart,
sister – Gerri Lynn Niemi and sister-in-law Deb Young.
Bryan graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1971. He was
a truck driver for over 40+ years, having ended his career
working for Star Force Transportation.
He and Vickie traveled extensively throughout the western half
of the US visiting numerous national parks. Although he was
not a beach person, he enjoyed their many trips to Puerto
Vallarta, MX. He was able to enjoy a last trip to Washington DC
in July of 2025. You could often find Bryan with a book in hand
as he was an avid reader. He loved history, political
commentary, and way too much Fox News.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October
6, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2200 Philo Road,
Urbana, IL 61802. Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 am at
the church. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo
IL. Memorials may be made to St. Mattew Lutheran Church or
