Stephanie Brewer Alexander, Professor Emerita of Differential Geometry, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and a fellow of the American Mathematical Society. She loved mathematics and was passionate about sharing this gift with her students. She participated in numerous math conferences worldwide and authored many publications, including in her retirement, coauthoring a book on Alexandrov Geometry.  Born to Phyllis Brewster (Professor of Pharmacy) and David Brewer (architect and engineer) in North Hollywood CA. Stephanie was raised in Vancouver BC, and London ON where her much loved stepfather, James Taylor, was a professor of Business.  She was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and University of Illinois. She was married to the late John Ralph Alexander, also an Emeritus Geometry Professor at U of I. Stephanie and Ralph, were passionate supporters of the wetlands and wildlife around the Sangamon River. She and Ralph also loved poetry and the arts. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, nieces, great nieces and nephew, cousins, and amazing family friend, Dave Brayfield. We already miss her so much.
