URBANA, IL- Ruth Baker, 61, of Urbana, IL, passed away at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held on, Saturday, December 23, 2023 at The Vineyard Church, 1500 N. Lincoln Ave., Urbana, with visitation from 11am 2pm.  Burial will be held at Eastview Cemetery

 Ruth Baker was born July 9, 1962 in Joliet, IL, a daughter of Louis Bradley and Bernice Griffin. She attended Joliet East H.S. Ruth also had a love for taking care of others. With this passion to do so she became a Certified Nursing assistant and was employed at OSF for 9 years.

.Ruth met and married John Baker also of Joliet IL, on February 14, 1995 in Urbana, with this union came 5 beautiful children. Ruth was a DEVOTED WORSHIPPER OF THE GOD OF HEAVEN! She looked forward to the opportunity to let her praise be heard and that without reservation. She was a faithful member of New Vision Non-Denominational Church Urbana, under the Covering of Apostle Gary Barren, and leadership of Pastor Courtney Baker. In spite of all her hardships and sickness her faith prevailed. Ruth’s relationship with God is one to take heed to. She would always say what the devil meant for death, God turned it around and gave me life! Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her son Stefon Baker, and six siblings, Gloria Hunter, Lillie Hughes, Ernestine Woodson, Dorothy Campbell, Albert Bradley and Charles Bradley. 

Ruth’s precious memory will always be cherished by her loving husband of 28 years John Baker, her children, Tyrese Baker of Urbana, Talisha Baker of Tuscola, Lanaiydia Baker of Urbana, Charles Baker of Urbana, and Kemora Baker of Urbana.  Her one grandchild, Krew Baker, and six siblings, Bernadine Bradley of Urbana, Wanda Campbell of Joliet, IL, Joanne Crowder of Joliet, Louis Bradley of Lockport, IL, Ivory Bradley of Joliet, and Edward Bradley of Joliet, 4 sister’s in-law Jolene, Roxannne, Janine, and Nancy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
