Robert Lee McLaughlin

We regretfully announce the passing of Robert “Bob” L McLaughlin, on Feb.25. 2019.

Bob had resided the last several years at Champaign County Nursing Home.

Bob served in the US Air Force from July, 1951 thru July of 1955.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gretchen McLaughlin, two sisters, Barb (Charlie) Hollers; Mary (Bob) Jones; and a brother Junior.

Bob is survived by four children; Angie (Rocky)Wisdom; Bobby, Mike ,and Christina McLaughlin.

Bob married Laura A Peters in June 1972; They were married til Laura’s death, Feb. 26, 1998.

Laura’s three sons, Jim Peters (Terri), Ken Peters (Lynn) and Robin Peters (Cathy).

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob retired from Skips Shell Service at Prospect and Kirby Ave after over 30 years; was member of American Legion Post 71, Urbana Il., Moose Club, Parents Without Partners, Re-weds, Radio Control Club, and several others. He also enjoyed watching old western movies, and TV police shows.

Bob enjoyed going out dancing, (Once Laura prodded him enough to go. Of course then he was the last person wanting to leave).

There is to be a graveside prayer service, Sat. 3/9/19; 11:30 am, at East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana Il.
