Redith F. Ewing Obituary

Redith F. Ewing, 82, of Urbana passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Newport, AR on April 17, 1943, the daughter of Jesse & Laura (Harlan) Adkisson. She married Wallace Ewing on September 7, 1971.

 Redith is survived by a son- Jay Ewing, of Champaign, IL; daughter- Melissa Bunge (Scott) of Livermore, CA; grandchildren Elizabeth Bunge and Abigail Ewing; Stepchildren; Brian Ewing (Teri), Joan Fuller (Jim).

She is preceded by her parents, husband.

Redith graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign with a master’s degree from the School of Social Work. She was a realtor in Champaign-Urbana as well as an owner of the Yellow Cab Company from 1987 until its closure in 2020.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Grace Church of Nazarene, 2403 W Kirby Ave Champaign, IL 61821. 

Doors open at 11:00 am with a visitation.  A reception will follow memorial service which will have a catered lunch at the church. Burial to follow at 2:30 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Condolences may be made at
