Patrick A. Sarnecki, 69, of Urbana, IL passed away on Saturday May 3, 2025, after a 6-
year battle with lung cancer.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Edna Sarnecki, his brother Robert
Sarnecki, and sister Frances Good.
Pat was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was a proud mail carrier with the
Urbana Post Office for nearly 40 years. A lover of classic cars, a wizard at any pinball
machine, and an avid pool player. Pat was a lifelong fan of the St Louis Cardinals and
the Green Bay Packers, of which he was a proud shareholder, and a man who never
found a puzzle or brain teaser he couldn’t solve.
Pat is survived by his three children, Lindsay Sarnecki (Jerod Mattox) of Huntington,
WV, Anthony Sarnecki (Jenny) of Hartland, WI, and Kimberly Watson (Peter) of
Minnetonka, MN, his grandchildren, Adelle, Eleanor, Alistair, Lylah, Amos and a
granddaughter arriving in August. Siblings Frank Sarnecki (Barb) of Glenmoore, PA,
Mike Sarnecki of Rankin, IL, and Paula Butcher of Paxton, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 27, 2025, from 4:30pm-7:30pm at
Jupiters at the Crossing in Champaign, IL.
