Pat was born in 1923 in Evanston, Illinois to Alphe Arseneau and Mae McCarty Arseneau.  She had one sister, Mary Jeanne Arseneau Spear. She didn’t know her father as he died when she was only 9 months old.  Pat graduated from Evanston High School.

Pat lived down the street from her childhood sweetheart, Charles Wingstrom, and they married on September 28, 1946, in Evanston. They were married for 66 years before her “Bud” died in January 2013. Pat and Bud had four children. Charlotte Wingstrom of Champaign, Pat (Mike) Beaird of Philo, Paul (Nancy) Wingstrom of Galveston, Texas, and the late Andy Wingstrom. Pat and Bud have 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pat and Bud moved to Champaign from Evanston in 1958. For many years, Pat stayed home caring for her family before becoming a secretary at Carriage Lane in Urbana and later at the University of Illinois in Experimental Horticulture.

Pat was always fun and loved joking and laughing with her friends at Bickford. Often, she could be heard singing in her room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family will have a private service later this year.
