Michael G. Carlson

Michael G. Carlson, 64, of Urbana, formerly of Saint Paul, Minnesota passed away at 8:01 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Carle Foundation, Urbana.

He was born in Saint Paul, MN on September 27, 1960 the son of William & Virginia (Ranken) Carlson.

Michael is survived by his special friend, Sela Sar, and four cats Giggle (Gigi), Tickle (Tiki), Dominic (Dom) and Nicholas (Nicky) of Urbana, IL,. He is preceded by his parents.

He graduated from the University of St Thomas with a bachelor’s degree in special education and a master’s degree in behavioral science.  He worked for 30 years as a teacher at Saint Paul High School. 

Michael was very kindhearted and enjoyed animals & nature. He especially loved his cats.  In his younger years Michael also enjoyed playing golf, walking and traveling.

A celebration of life service will be at a later date.
