SAVOY, IL-  Meta Maria Blan, 94, of Savoy, passed away at 6:25 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Villas of Holly Brook in Savoy, IL.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10-11 AM at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, with funeral services to follow at 11 AM.  Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Meta was born in Monchzell, Germany on December 23, 1928, a daughter of Sebastian and Anna(Schlund) Schmitt.  She married Roy Blan on February 27, 1948 in Monchzell, Germany.  He preceded her in death.  Survivors include a son, Robert Blan of Urbana, and a daughter, Linda Blan, also of Urbana; three grandchildren, Jessica Pippin, Ashley Reinhart, and Robert Blan, as well as, 11 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild and a brother, Lothar Schmitt of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Belinda Maria Blan, son, David Allen Blan, and five siblings.

Meta worked for Collegiate Cap and Gown for many years, and was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, the German American Club of Urbana and West Palm Beach, and she loved fishing.
