Leon D. Eisenhauer

Leon D. Eisenhauer, 90, of Mahomet passed away at 10:50 a.m. on September 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 5, 1933 in Royalton, Illinois the son of Frederick & Cora (Stephens) Eisenhauer. He married Lola Jeannette Harris on April 8, 1955 in Tamaroa, Illinois. Leon is survived by his wife, Jeannette; daughters- Jennifer (Lin)Eisenhauer, Lisa Bloodworth, Janine( Mike) Hammer; sons-Kriss Eisenhauer, Douglas Eisenhauer; Grandchildren- Cora (Jimmy) Marshall, Blake Bloodworth, Anna(Tyler)Boyer, Logan (Jamie) Hammer, Cole (Laura) Hammer, Shelby Eisenhauer, Brett Eisenhauer and Kendall Eisenhauer. great grandchildren Ariella, Lucas, Colton, Charlie, Evan, Payton, Alex, Leo and Penelope: brother-Leslie (Arita) Eisenhauer of Johnston City He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers -Richard Eisenhauer, Perry (Iona) Eisenhauer and niece, Rebecka Garavalia.. Leon received his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctorate all from University of Illinois. He taught at Urbana Middle School and later worked as the manager of the Illini Union bookstore and Associate Director of the Illini Union. He was a member of the Mahomet Christian Church. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and carpentry. He Completely renovated both of his homes in Mahomet. Celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16 at the Mahomet Christian Church, 908 N Lake of the Woods Road, Mahomet, Il 61853. Pastor Jeff Dyson will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the church.
