Judith L “Judy” Stahl, 84 of Philo passed away on May 31, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.  Judy was born March 9, 1940 at Burnham City Hospital, Champaign, the daughter of Lawrence V. and Hilda (Gordon) Wood.  She married G. Robert “Bob” Stahl on February 19, 1961 at First Methodist Church, Urbana, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, G. Bob Stahl of Philo, son Jeff, and daughter-in-law Jill of Urbana, and granddaughter Sarah of Champaign.

Judy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Urbana and Countryside United Methodist Church of Urbana. 

                                                                      

She loved clothes shopping and had many collectable bears over the years.  Travelled to many places to add to her collection.  She and G Bob vacationed in Florida for many years at Ramblers Rest Park in Venice.  They survived a hurricane and cleaned up afterwards.  

Judy worked at Carle Clinic appointment desk 1959 to 1967, Wiley School Library Aide 1974 to 1976 and Weight Watchers Leader 1981 to 1989

Visitation will be Sunday, June 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Renner Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana.

A Celebration of Life service for her remembrance will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday June 10 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo.

Pastors Jeff Stahl, Bob Freeman and Dick McGuire will officiate. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside United Methodist Church, Urbana and First United Methodist Church of Urbana.
