Judy Bantz-Serpetis (78) passed away peacefully on July 2nd, at her home in Urbana IL. She was born on December 10, 1946 to parents Leonard Bantz and Frances M. Bantz née Peabody in Champaign IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Russell C. Serpetis. She is survived by her son Owen R. Serpetis, her brother James R. Bantz, her sister Linda M. Bantz, and nephew Aaron L. Bantz.

Throughout her life Judy thoroughly enjoyed travel, nature, camping, cooking and acquiring a collection of pottery, glassware and other antiquities.

In 1965, Judy graduated from Prospect High in Mt Prospect IL. She would go on to earn a bachelor's of art from Northern Illinois University in 1969 with a major in Sociology.

In the early 70's She would begin her career with the State of Illinois Department of Healthcare and Human Services in Cook County. At this time, she would meet her future husband Russ, and the two would be wed on September 12th of 1981. Shortly after they would move downstate where she would give birth to their only son. She would continue her occupation in Piatt County for the remainder of her career.

Judy retired in the 2000's. It was at this time where she and her husband would travel internationally. Having already explored most of the US and Canada in their younger years, they would set off for six countries in Europe and Russia. Or as she would say "Visited six nations across the pond."

Judy will best be remembered as a passionate and faithful wife, a devoted and loving mother, and a caring friend to many. But no one might grieve more than her furry companion Molly.
