James Edward DeHaven, 74, of Urbana passed away at11:30 p.m. on September 29, 2024 at his home. He was born in Urbana, IL on September 16, 1950, the son of Byron & Betty (Rush) DeHaven. James is survived by his son- Shawn M. DeHaven of Bloomington, IL, daughter- Sandra Nelson of Mishawaka, IN, Grandchild – Jade Smith and great Grandchild- Hayden Smith; brother- Joe DeHaven of Muncie IN, David DeHaven of Jasonville, IN, sisters- Susan Stout of Mahomet, IL, Leslie Goodwin of St Joe, IL. He is preceded by his parents, brothers- Dennis DeHaven and William DeHaven. James graduated from Urbana High School in 1968. He worked 45 plus years as a union plumber with local 149 at the University of Illinois. James enjoyed time with family & friends, he also liked playing music, bowling and golfing.
