Helen Louise Cler, 95, formerly of Urbana, IL passed away at 3:40 a.m. on May 31, 2025, at the Waters of Covington.

She was born in Newman, IL on December 28, 1929, the daughter of James & Inez (Dennison) Twigg. She married Clarence Cler on June 28, 1949, in Bongard, Longview area.

Helen is survived by daughters- Doris(Greg) Johnson of Mahomet, IL, Ruth (Evert) Batley of Covington, IN, Donna (Donnie) Starwalt of Lovington, Il, Sandra (Jerry) Johnson of Byrdstown TN; 56 Grandchildren & 1 Great Grandchildren: son in law- Ron Tatman of Longview, IL and daughter in law- Robin Cler of  South Dakota

She is preceded by her parents, husband, Clarence, daughter- Karen Tatman, son- Russell Cler, sisters-Marguerite Marlatt & Mary Ellen Hinkel, brothers- James Twigg & Thomas Twigg.

Helen worked as a CNA for Champaign County Nursing home. She was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church in Urbana and helped with Meals on Wheels. Helen was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her family

A funeral mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St Patrick Catholic Church, 708 W. Main Street, Urbana, IL. Father Anthony Co will be officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana, IL. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. on Thursday June 5, 2025, at Renner- Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Rd, Urbana, IL.
