Gina L. Torricelli, 62, of Urbana, passed away at 2:32 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana. She was born on December 5, 1961 in Harrisburg, Illinois the daughter of Calvin & Maureen (Jones) Sutton. She married Kenneth Torricelli on October 29, 1988 in Las Vegas. Gina is survived by her mother, husband- Ken, brother- Mike Sutton of Harrisburg, IL. She is preceded by her father, son- Alexander Torricelli; brother- Bruce Sutton; sister- Lorna Sutton. Gina graduated from High School at Harrisburg, Il. She received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Southern Illinois University. She taught for 29 years in the English department at Urbana Alternative Education & High School. Gina touched many lives of those she taught. Late in life Gina learned how to golf and was an avid golfer and cruiser. She also loved dogs in particular her Toy Fox Terrier, Gracie. She is a former member of Lincolnshire Country Club & Champaign Country Club. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
