Gary Wayne Morriston, age 57, of Champaign, passed away peacefully at 5:10am on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. He was surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, located at 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, with cremation to follow.

Born on April 8, 1966, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Gary was the cherished son of Ray Morriston and Marilee Morriston. On October 26, 2009, he married the love of his life, Amy Morriston, who survives him. Gary leaves behind his adored child, Phoenyx Morriston, of Champaign, and his two loving sisters, Rhonda Soap of Kansas City, Missouri, and Marlene Morriston of Arlington, Texas.

Gary will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend. His intelligence, charm, and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. His passion for his family was evident in everything he did, and he treasured the time spent with them. Gary's love for travel allowed him to explore new places and create cherished memories with his loved ones.

We gather to celebrate the life of Gary Wayne Morriston, to share our memories, and to bid farewell to a remarkable man who touched our lives in profound ways. He will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Phoenyx Morriston (child), towards Phoenyx’s future college education.
