Dr. Daniel Baktha Jayasingh, PhD of Champaign, passed away January 29, 2026 at Accolade Care, Savoy. 

Dr. Jayasingh was a Professor of Entomology at the University of West Indies.  He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Champaign.

Funeral services will be Saturday February 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church, 2101 S Prospect Ave., Champaign with a reception at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Rev. Lynette Chapman will officiate.  Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign at 1:30.
