Donald Robert Helmericks

Donald Robert Helmericks died 4/8/2026 in his native home of Urbana Ill.
Mr. Helmericks was born July 19th 1927 to Ralph and Della Helmericks.
After serving in the Army during WW2 he came back to Urbana and got a job at Illinois Bell Telephone Co and worked there for 38 years.
He also helped his father tuning, fixing and building pipe organs from the time he was ten until his father died in 1977.
He was a master craftsman just like his father.
He is survived by two sons, two stepdaughters, two granddaughters, one grandson, one step grandson and two great grandsons.
Mr. Helmericks passion was playing golf.
His place of rest will be in the mausoleum at Mount Hope Cemetery at 611 E Pennsylvania Ave, Champaign, IL
No memorial services are being held.
