Rev. Dennis A. Anglin, a Navy Vietnam Era veteran and longtime resident of Fithian, IL passed away on September 23, 2023, surrounded by family and singing his way up yonder. Dennis was known to many throughout east central Il as a pastor, postmaster, and a constant source of encouragement to all he encountered. Dennis was born August 2, 1942, at Burnham City Hospital in Champaign, IL to Francis and Eva (Hatter) Anglin. By the age of 14 he was already teaching Sunday School and at 16 serving on the church board. He attended Champaign Central High School and Illinois Commercial College before serving his country in Vietnam. Upon return from Vietnam, he married the love of his life Wilma Maxine (Davison) on April 24, 1966. Rev. He was ordained in 1972 by General Superintendent Dr. V.H. Lewis. Their journey in ministry took them to 13 different churches across Illinois and Wisconsin conducting 74 weddings, 10 baptisms, 22 dedications and 115 funerals. Dennis had a passion for spreading the gospel thru music and proudly proclaimed to all "that I was born to serve the Lord and I will do it until t the day I die". He accomplished this goal as he continued to minister to each medical provider and family member to the very moment the good Lord called him to join the Heavenly Choir.
