David Warren Bauer

Dave was born on Choteau Island in Madison County, Illinois.  He grew up in Edwardsville, Illinois and graduated from Edwardsville High School.

He married Doris Ward on May 31, 1997, she survives.

Also surviving are Keri (John) Sandoval, Edward (Megan) Bauer, Jean (Eric) Crowley and Bill (Rhonda) Ward.  Dave had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Dave was an over-the-road truck driver for many years prior to becoming the head maintenance worker for Country Fair Apartments.  It was working there that he met and fell in love with his wife Doris, who was the head of the cleaning staff.

He was an avid Illini sports fan, fisherman and bowler and was a member of a five-person team that won the 2009 Elks State Bowling Tournament team event.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his family, and Sunday afternoon trips to Dairy Queen for ice cream.

He was a member of the C-U Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Shriners.

Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 4112 W. Bloomington Road, Champaign, IL 61822. Family member Eric Crowley will be officiating.
