Charlotte Virginia (Gordon) Burnett, 91, of Urbana passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on March 8th at First United Methodist Church in Urbana. Friends and relatives are encouraged to meet with the family in the church parlor from 1-2:00 PM.  Reverend Robert Freeman and Pastor Jeff Stahl will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview.

Charlotte was born on December 8, 1933 in Urbana, Illinois, to parents Herbert and Dorothy (Webber) Gordon. They preceded her in death. On May 3, 1953 Charlotte married Robert Burnett in Urbana. He survives. God blessed Charlotte and Bob with three children, Donna (Doug) Stroh of Clinton, Douglas (LouAnn) Burnett of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Andrew (Jennifer) Burnett of Urbana, and seven grandchildren, Lyndie, Hannah, Elena, Bailey, Hazel (Peyton), Bradley and Artem (Michelle). Also surviving is one brother, Thomas Gordon of Urbana.

Charlotte attended Willard and Urbana schools followed by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She was employed by the University of Illinois as a stenographer and graphic designer. Charlotte was a member of First United Methodist Church in Urbana, United Methodist Women, Neighborhood Social Club and Home and Community Education.

Charlotte enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, camping, and playing cards with friends. She was a wonderful artist and passed on her love of art and music to her children. God blessed Charlotte and Bob with seventy-one wonderful, love filled years of marriage.
