Beverly A. Harney, 95, of Urbana passed away at 7:48 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at her home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday February 6, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Deacon Cliff Maduzia will be officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana, Illinois. Beverly was born on May 12, 1927 in Ogden, Illinois the daughter of C.A. & Lois (Lee)Royer. She married James R. Harney on December 7, 1946, in Springfield, Illinois. He passed away on March 6, 2003. Also surviving are two sons- James(Sue) Harney of Urbana, Jon(Nicolette)Harney of St Joseph; two daughters-Jody(Dan) Ellison and Cheryl Cavill both of Urbana; 10 grandchildren; 39 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; brother- Jon Royer of Champaign. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James and sister- Shirley Squire. Beverly worked as a secretary for Senator Stanley Weaver. She is the last founding member of Candlestick Lane and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She also enjoyed puzzles, collecting hallmark ornaments, Illini Sports, Chicago Bears & Cubs.
