Xili Li 96 of Urbana passed away August 9, 2026 at home. Xili was born July 7, 1930 in Tianjin, China, the daughter of Dazhai Li and Dezhen Zhao. She married Tianyou Han in 1954 in China. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2011.

Xili is survived by her daughter Yi Han, grandson Jingning Wang, his wife Lidiya Wang and two great granddaughters Leah Wang and Vera Wang.

Xili graduated from Beijing University and worked at Tianjin Medical College as a professor. She taught Public Health, Food Nutrition, Microbiology and Toxicology. Later she became a director of the Department of Toxicology. When she and her husband came to Urbana, IL, she worked at a microbiology laboratory at the University of Illinois conducting microbiological tests. Xili enjoyed reading books and singing.

Private services will be held and burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview.
