Winifred D. Thomas 93 of Champaign died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Heartland Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Rev. Vuanita Battle-Maze officiating. Burial was in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomas was born on September 7, 1918 in Junction City, Arkansas, the daughter of Benjamin and Dorothy Briggs Dismuke, she married Elgie Thomas in 1942, and he died February 8, 1998. They were married for 56 years,

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Thomas retired as a finance secretary for the Army Depot.

She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Thomas enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing and gardening.
