William Walter Munter, 95 of Urbana, Illinois died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Private graveside services will be held. Pastor Rick Bloom will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Champaign. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Mr. Munter was born on September 29, 1912 Shafter Township, Illinois, the son of Edward and Florence Casey Munter. He married Mildred Sefton on August 8, 1936 in Vandalia, Illinois. She died on April 29, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter; Joan (Bud) Lovett of Urbana, three grandchildren; Rick (Pam) Lovett of Mahomet, JoEllen (Jeff) Stierwalt of Champaign and Christina (Michael) Cunha of Lexington Park, Maryland, and five great grandchildren; Jason Stierwalt of Champaign, Justin (Betsy) Stierwalt, and Brandon Lovett both of Champaign, Taylor Cunha and Layke Cunha both of Lexington Park, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Mr. Munter attended the Ogden School system

He worked at Meadow Gold Milk and retired in 1978 after 31 years from building maintenance at the University of Illinois.

Mr. Munter enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Cubs fan.
