William G. Bohlen of Urbana, Illinois died on May 26, 2015 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, Illinois. William was born July 9, 1940 in Urbana, Illinois, son of Jacob William Bohlen and Minnie Ennin Bohlen, now deceased along with William's 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

William for the majority of his life has been known as, and called "Cookie" by family, fiends and most people who knew him. He was a graduate of Urbana High School in 1958. William "Cookie" joined Ironworkers 180 in Urbana, Illinois on May 1, 1965 and took lifetime retirement in February, 2011.

William married Marilyn K. Shaw in Tuscola, Illinois on July 12, 1968, also accepting Denise E. Shaw and Donna R. Shaw as daughters he would love and care for. A blessing occurred on July 16, 1971 when a daughter Candace Renee Bohlen was born.

Surviving members of this extended family are Denise Shaw Rowe, Donna Shaw Donze and her husband, Rick, Candace Bohlen Richmond and her husband, Troy Richmond, along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

William was a member of First Christian Church on Staley Road, Champaign.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31 and the funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, Illinois.

Private family graveside burial will be at Tuscola Township Cemetery.
