Obituary

Wert T. Miller, Urbana, Illinois, died at 7:45 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Village North Health Center in St. Louis, Missouri, where he resided for the last four years. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., with Funeral services following at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Mr. Miller was born October 29, 1916, in Mudlick, Kentucky. He married Olive Stewart on June 1, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, and settled in Urbana. She preceded him in death July 23, 1999. He is survived by his children, James T. (Rachel) Miller of Udall, Kansas, Judith M. (Don) Miller Michael of Dellwood, Missouri, and Rita A. (Larry) Miller Wilson of Seligman, Arizona; sister, Alma Merrifield, Champaign, Illinois, and brother, Clyde Miller, Nashville, Tennessee, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Leonie Fox Miller, two brothers (Kenneth and Carlos) and two sisters (Clova Miller and Rosie Roy).

He served in the Pacific during World War II from 1943-45 and owned and operated Wert Miller's Garage in Urbana for 40 years. He was member of the Church of Christ.
