Wendy Samuel, 43, of Oakwood, passed away at her home Monday, August 22, 2016. A visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Tim Pruitt officiating. Cremation will take place following the funeral at the on-site crematory.

Wendy was born January 30, 1973 in Champaign, Illinois to parents Ethel Wombles and Ken Johnson; they survive. She married Larry Samuel Jr. January 14, 1994 in Danville, Illinois. He survives in addition to sons, Ernest Stinchomb Jr., of Danville, and Karamon Samuel, of Oakwood. Also surviving are siblings, Bobbie Jo Johnson, of Urbana, Timothy Johnson (Brandi), of Oakwood, grandchildren, Serenity and Adriahna, maternal grandmother, Charaline Myers, of Urbana, and aunts, Deana Fox, of Florida, and Maureen Paden, of Urbana. Her paternal grandmother, Maybelle H. Johnson, preceded Wendy in death.

As an introvert, Wendy liked to keep to herself. She was a collector of butterfly, dragonfly, and teacup trinkets and figurines. She was also a big fan of Dunkin Donuts. What was most dear to her heart, however, was her family, who she loved dearly.
