Wanda L. Hicks, 73, of Urbana died 2:10 p.m., January 27, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Good Shepard Lutheran Church Champaign. Rev. Donna Hacker Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery Urbana. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 29 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana.

Wanda L. Hicks was born May 15, 1936 in Urbana, the daughter of Elton and Grace Marie Anderson Thuney. She married Richard Hicks June 18, 1982 in Tuscola. He survives.

She is survived by two sons Jim Branson of Philo, and Rick Hicks of New Orleans; two brothers Wes Thuney of Urbana, and Dale Thuney of Urbana; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, David Branson, in 1993.

Wanda graduated from Urbana High School in 1954 and worked as a bank teller. She enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, and has been a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Champaign for over twenty five years.
