SAVOY, IL- Wanda R. Dyson, 96, of Savoy, Illinois, passed away at 2:05 A.M., Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center in Savoy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, with burial to follow at Glen Cemetery in Paxton, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Mrs. Dyson was born February 19, 1918 in Paxton, IL, a daughter of Albert Neil and Eva Victoria (Swanson) Waldron. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; Sue Kimpel, Allen Butterick, Merle Butterick, Kenny Butterick, Ralph Waldron, Connie Ogden, John Ogden, Karen Williams, Linda Ogden, and good friend, Cindy Harris. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jane Dyson, her parents, and five brothers and sisters. Mrs. Dyson graduated from Urbana High School in 1936 and Parkland College. She was an instructor for Singer Sewing Center, a bookkeeper for the Illini Airport for 25 years and she also worked for the University of Illinois Office of Admissions & Records for 10 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Champaign, where she was involved in the Miriam Circle and Welca. She was also a member of the International Flying Farmers since 1950 and represented them as their elected queen in 1960, 1996 and 2001.
