Obituary

Vivian Ruth Isaksen, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died peacefully on December 12, 2007. She was born March 22, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois

Vivian attended Austin High School in Chicago, graduating in 1941. She stayed close to home, beginning her long career as an Executive Secretary for ABC Lithography, Co. After 20 years, and upon the death of her father in 1962, Vivian relocated to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to live with her mother, Ruth. There she worked for Napa Auto Parts, while maintaining membership in The Norwegian Club, as well as other local groups.

Upon retirement in 1989, Vivian moved to Urbana, Illinois. She continued to enjoy knitting, playing music, traveling and organizing the family reunions in Rockdale, Wisconsin. Although previously associated with The North Austin Lutheran Church, Vivian became an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Urbana, Illinois in 1990. She volunteered on a weekly basis, using her administrative skills to assist with the various office duties and congregational tasks; always being one on the first to help out.

Vivian is survived by her son, David Mohr, Cornucopia, Wisconsin, her two grandchildren, Sheila Schonrock, Blue Earth, Minnesota, Clay Mohr, Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Victor Isaksen and her Sister-in-law, Sharon, Urbana, Illinois, one niece, Kimberly Emerson, San Diego, California and three nephews, Kevin Isaksen, Skip Isaksen, Kyle Isaksen, Urbana, Illinois, three great nieces and four great nephews.

A Family and Friends Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2200 South Philo Road, Urbana, Illinois. Memorial services will follow immediately afterwards.

Funeral service will be at the Rockdale Lutheran Church, Rockdale, Wisconsin with Visitation at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2007. A Norwegian buffet will follow at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations and remembrances can be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
