Virginia Ann McColl, 82, of Urbana, passed away at 2:35 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Virginia was born November 30, 1935 in Decatur, IL to parents Orgel and Lena (Heckman) Hite. They preceded her in death. She married Forrest McColl on September 14, 1958 in Cerro Gordo, IL; he preceded her in death on November 30, 1990. Survivors include two children, Cynthia Morrison (Scott), of Urbana, Illinois and Douglas McColl, of Iowa City, Iowa. One sister, Maurine Severns, of Decatur, Illinois survives. Also surviving are granddaughters, Kathleen Morrison and Marcia Jarrett (Matthew), great granddaughter, Esther Jarrett, and niece, Karen Severns.

After graduating with valedictorian honors from Cerro Gordo High School, Virginia worked as a Bookkeeper and most recently worked with Collins Oil Co. in Urbana, Illinois.

Mrs. McColl was a member of the Champaign Church of the Brethren, where she was actively involved. She was also a member of the Alliance Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). Her interests included genealogy, her church, farming, traveling, and most of all- her family.
