Violet Louise Schoonover 78 of Urbana died at 11:59 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Mrs. Schoonover was born on March 3, 1931 in Champaign, the daughter of Robert Reubin and Iona McIntire McIntyre. She married Eldred L. "Roy" Schoonover on February 5, 1949 in Urbana; he died on May 2, 1979.

Survivors include three daughters; Lyn Hall of Mahomet, Le Hutton of Urbana, Eileen King of Melrose, one son; Chip Schoonover of Urbana, two sisters; Iona May Garrett of Champaign, Nancy Medrow of Urbana, one brother Dan McIntyre of St. Joseph, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild, two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Schoonover graduated from Urbana High School and retired from Expanded Foods & Nutrition Coop. Extension at the U of I.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Urbana.

Mrs. Schoonover was an election judge for 52 years in Champaign County.
