Obituary

URBANA- Victor Emanuel Isaksen, 83, of Urbana died Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2200 South Philo Road, Urbana, IL with Pastor Robert Rasmus officiating. A reception will be held at the Urbana Country Club immediately following the service. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, is handling the arrangements.

Vic was born August 30th, 1932 in Chicago, IL, a son of Victor Emanuel and Ruth Gunhilda (Anderson) Isaksen. He met Sharon Ann Larson at the University of Illinois in 1953 and married the love of his life on November 20th, 1954 in Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Ruth Isaksen and his sister Vivian Isaksen.

Surviving are four children, Kimberly (Isaksen) Emerson (David) of El Cajon, CA, Kevin Isaksen of Urbana, IL, Kirk Isaksen (Joni) of Urbana, IL and Kyle Isaksen (Terri Rostek) of St. Joseph, IL and nine grandchildren, Kiersten Emerson Fletcher and her husband Tom of El Cajon, CA,Lindsey Emerson Johnson and her husband Erik of El Cajon, CA, Sam Emerson of El Cajon, CA, Scott Davies of Chatsworth, IL, Tyler Isaksen of Urbana, IL, Brittany Isaksen of Urbana, IL, Zachary Isaksen and his wife Kaci of St. Joseph, IL, Courtney Beasley and her husband Ryan of Mansfield, IL, Emily Rostek of St. Joseph, IL and six great-grandchildren.

Vic graduated from Austin High School, Chicago, IL in 1950 and the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture in 1955. He was active in various functions while a student at the U of I, as a Major in the ROTC. He was commissioned First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in June of 1955. He was an honorary member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. During active duty, Vic was stationed at Francis Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY in 1955, then transferred to the 49th ABG Misawa AFB, Japan from 1953 through 1957. He ranked as a Lt. Colonel upon retirement in 1992, serving in the Air Force Reserve.
