Thomas D. Kosowski, 67, of Urbana passed away at 3:08 P.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory in Urbana. Pastor C.W. Greer will officiate. A Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Tom was born on October 21, 1948 in Champaign to parents August and Virginia (Soloman) Kosowski. They preceded him in death. He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Thrasher (William) of Birchwood, WI, Alesia Foster (John) of Hastings, NE and Denise Blacker (Gene) of Homer, IL.

Tom was a graduate of Urbana High School, after school he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970. He worked in a variety of occupations throughout the United States and abroad. For the last fifteen years, Tom worked as a maintenance worker in Champaign.

He enjoyed gardening and cooking. He used the vegetables from his garden to make his homemade salsa, which he was very proud of. He was a creative writer; he especially enjoyed writing screen plays, stories and poems. He also liked to watch sports, football being his favorite.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Homer New Life Church of Faith.
