Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Louis Frank, 91, of Mahomet passed away at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Bridle Brook Nursing Home, Mahomet.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2015 in the Fellowship Hall at First Christian Church of Savoy, 3601 S. Staley Rd., Champaign. Pastor Hank Sanford will officiate.

Ted was born on February 19, 1925 in Kampsville, Illinois to parents Henry and Mary Ethel (Fields) Frank. They preceded him in death. In 1946 Ted married Christine Delores Peavahose in New Orleans, Louisiana; she passed away on September 23, 1992. Also preceding him in death were two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by four sons, John "Dick" Frank (Cheryl D. Metz) of Littleton, Colorado, Kyle Frank (Dale) of Milan, Indiana, Roby Frank (Christopher Jaramillo) of Littleton, Colorado and Paul Frank (Cynthia A. Jordan-Frank) of Urbana, Illinois. He is also survived by two sisters, Betty D'Urso and Frances Sanford (Bill) both of Urbana, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ted attended Urbana schools and enlisted in the United States Navy when he was eighteen. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for Local #44, Champaign for 42 years. He was a member of First Christian Church of Savoy, and a member of the Illinois Archeological Association and published articles in archeological magazines. Ted was an innovator and pioneer in flint knapping, revered by his colleagues as a true master of the craft. He also enjoyed watching NBA basketball.
