Ted R. Varner 83 of Champaign died at 3:03 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Country Health Center, Gifford.

Ted R. Varner was born, December 3, 1928 in Urbana. He was the son of Mamie and Ray (Fromm) Varner. He married Charlotte Goddard Varner in Urbana, she survives. He then married Eileen Frye in 1987, she died December 21, 2007.

Survivors include two sons; David (Janet) Varner of Ballwin, MO and Doug (Jodie) Varner of Savoy. Also surviving are three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Ted served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Elks and Moose Lodge. He was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church, Leesburg, Florida.

There will be no services. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
