Tana L. Steigberg, 66, of Urbana passed away at 11:15 P.M. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at her home.

A memorial reception will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4-7 P.M. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2200 Philo Rd.,Urbana.

Tana was born in Champaign on September 11, 1948 to parents Robert Earl Ash and Darlene Anne Spicer. They preceded her in death. Also preceding Tana in death was her step-father (2nd Dad), Clarence W. Lorton.

On January 1, 1969 Tana married John G. Steigberg at University Place Christian Church in Champaign. John passed away on April 16, 2013.

She is survived by her children, John G. Steigberg II (Gina) of Tower Hill, IL, Jessica Steigberg of Tower Hill, IL and Stephanie McCallister (Roy) of Altamont, IL. Also surviving is her sister, Sherry Garner (Michael) of Grayling, MI, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Tana was a caring and generous person, always there with a helping hand and a kind word. Her conviction to always pay-it-forward brought peace to her life, knowing that she was helping others in times of need. She will forever be missed by those who were fortunate to have known her.
