Sylvia G. Douglas, 93, of Urbana, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Champaign. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, the Rev. Dr. John Sims and Rev. Wallace Reifsteck officiating. Private burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Champaign. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Douglas was born December 31, 1916 at Tyner, KY, the daughter of George and Sudie (Bullock) Miller. She married Raymond G. Douglas, Sr. on June 5, 1938 and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca K. Matthews (Randy) of Farmer City, Deborah Bonner (Chris) of Monticello, IN, sons, Raymond G. Douglas, Jr. of Urbana, and James P. Douglas of Mahomet, nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother and seven sisters.

Mrs. Douglas was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Urbana. She also was a member of the Esther Circle at the church, the Champaign County Farm Home Extension, Mayview and Past President of the Urbana PTA.
