Susan Eileen Noffke, 64, died Saturday (June 1, 2013) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana after a very brief illness that was the result of complications from her 18 month battle with cancer.

Sue was an Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Illinois specializing in social studies and teacher education. She greatly enjoyed working with local public school teachers.

Sue is survived by her husband, Robert Wickesberg; her son, Andrew (Katie) Wickesberg; her daughter, Laura Wickesberg; her brother, Roy (Jane) Noffke; and her sister, Louise (Mark) Berryman.

A private remembrance will be held later this summer. Expressions of sympathy can be made with a gift to the Urbana Free Library, Carle Foundation Hospital, or to a cancer charity of the donor's choice.
