Susan Putman Gibson, 60, of Champaign, passed away at 2:25 P.M., Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at her home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory in Urbana. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Susan was born on January 11, 1955 in Bloomington, IL to parents John and Virginia (Breedlove) Putman. They survive. Also surviving are her brother, John H. Putman II (Susan) of Mobile, AL, Aunt Dorien and Uncle Karl Putman of Marshalltown, IA, Uncle Robert Carden of Reading, MA, and her nephew, Daniel Putman of Auburn, AL.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeann Marie Putman and Aunt Marie Carden.

Susan was a member of Stone Creek Church in Urbana and a graduate of Urbana High School, class of 1963. After high school, Susan attended the University of Illinois until she moved to San Francisco where she attended the San Jose Art Academy. After returning home, she found employment as a server at Steak n Shake on Neil St. in Champaign, where she worked for many years. She loved vegetable gardening, crossword puzzles and old movies.
