William Wesley Stuart Graham, 88 of Tolono, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, the Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8.
Stuart was born April 4, 1925 in Edgar County, Illinois, the son of John Wilkes and Iris Opal (Swinford) Graham. He married Tommye Sue Vaughn. He is survived by a son, David S. Graham (Lorainne) of Alta Loma, CA, brothers, Herschel A. Graham (Patricia) of Urbana and Z. M. "Tony" Graham (Mary) of Champaign, granddaughter, Abigail Graham of Discovery Bay, Jamaica. He is preceded in death by wife, Tommye, daughter, Laura April Graham, sisters, Margaret Clair Graham, Laura Elaine Graham Fibisch and Lena Eleanor Graham.
Stuart attended Urbana High School, served in the US Navy during WWII during the invasion of Normandy. He was a machinist at J. B. Hayes, Urbana then later at Impact Register in Champaign. He worked at High Energy Physics at the University of Illinois and taught in the Machine Tools Program at Parkland College. He attended the Free Methodist Church, formerly in Urbana and was involved with the Parkland Retired Breakfast Club.
Memorials may be made to the Stuart Graham Machinist Scholarship Fund in care of Parkland College.
