Steven David Finley, 60 of Champaign died at 6:55 p.m., Thur. July 19 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana on Tue. July 24 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Foster officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign with Military Rites by Champaign VFW Post 5520. Mr. Finley was born Feb. 28, 1947, the son of Ted and Betty Leedom Finley. He married Vicki Welch April 21, 1972 in Urbana, she survives. Also survived by two daughters, Heather and (Jim) Shoemaker and Holli and (Bobby) Finley Gomes both of Champaign; grandchildren, Amanda, Courtney and Brandi Shoemaker; Tyler and Rachel Lang. Mr. Finley attended school in Aberdeen, Neb. and Illinois College in Centralia. He was a Stores Supervisor in Organic Chemistry at the U of I for 26 years and was a member of the Assembly of God. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially his grandchildren's games. His interests also included softball, boating, golf, bowling, bingo, hunting, and he loved his families' dogs. He served in the US Army in Vietnam.
