Stephen R. Fryer, 61, of Urbana went to Heaven at 2:23 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at First Christian Church, Champaign; Hank Sanford officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fryer was born on June 20, 1953 in Urbana, the son of Robert (Bob) and Mary Jane McHenry Fryer.

Forever loved by his mother of Urbana, one daughter; Stephanie Fryer of Cissna Park, one brother; Robert Fryer Jr. of Crescent City, Florida and special friends; Lorraine Fryer and Aillinn Dannave.

He was preceded in death by one brother; Paul and one sister; Mary Louise.

Mr. Fryer taught in several different high schools in central Illinois and was also a football coach.

He played football and wrestled for Urbana High School.

Mr. Fryer was an avid Bears and Illini fan and loved fishing, wrestling, football, gardening, planting trees, loud music and dogs.
