Smsgt William Jeffrey
Creek
Dec 15, 1961 — Nov 6, 2015
SMSgt William Jeffrey Creek, 53, USAF (Ret.), of O'Fallon died at 7:36 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed away at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois surrounded by his loving family. Jeff is survived by his wife Julia Vaughn Creek, daughter of Robert and Bonnie Vaughn of Mahomet.
Jeff was born on December 15, 1961 in Plattsburgh, New York to William Ellis and Jeanne Cheryle Sommers Creek. His mother survives. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial reception will be held Saturday, November 21st at the American Legion, 109 N. Penn Street O'Fallon, IL 62269 at 3 pm. Jeff requested that we gather to share memories and laughter dressed in Hawaiian shirts.
He is also survived by what he deemed as his finest accomplishments: his daughter, Cydney and sons, Tristan and Zane, all of O'Fallon, IL. Also surviving is one sister, Terri (Dave) Eller and nieces, Nona (Chad) Blades and Mary (Brandon) Poe. One brother-in-law John (Jody) Vaughn and nephews, Luke and Jack Vaughn.
Although he lived a less than average life span, Jeff did not live an average life. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and he enjoyed a 25 year career on C-130 cargo planes. After retiring from active duty, he continued working for the USAF as a flight manager at Scott Air Force Base. He is what we in the business like to call a "motorcycle aficionado." His chief regret in life was not training his faithful dog Dunkin to detect cancer.
Jeff's wishes are in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Creek Children Education Fund. c/o Bank of O'Fallon, 901 S. Lincoln Avenue, O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of the arrangements.
