Shirley J. Shaw, 91, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Urbana, Il on May 3, 1935, the daughter of William & Opal (Mabis) Fitzsimmons. She married Harry E. Shaw on August 3, 1954. He passed away on October 16, 1989.

Shirley is survived by her children- Mark (Christina) Shaw of Rantoul, IL, Doreen Wilson of Urbana, IL, and Melissa (Tim) Sommers of Mahomet, IL; grandchildren- Robert Shaw, Amy Durrance, Jamie Bialeschki, and Jenifer Sommers; sister- Chery

Fitzsimmons Stivers of St Joseph, Il.

She is preceded by her parents, husband, special friend, and companion of 20 years Ray Meyers; daughter- Denise Moore brothers- Robert Fitzsimmons, Richard Fitzsimmons, and James Fitzsimmons.

Shirley worked as a CNA for over 20 years at Champaign County Nursing Home, (Alzheimer's Unit) Urbana, IL. She was a 50 year member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Urbana, Il. Shirley enjoyed dinner playhouse theater, pottery making classes, scrape booking and attending programs at Krannert in particular The Nutcracker Ballet.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 15th, 2026, at St Mathew's Lutheran Church, 2200 Philo Road, Urbana, IL 61802. Rev. Robert Rasmus will be officiating.
