Shirley Roughton, age 79, left this world to be with The Lord April 29, 2014. Shirley was born in Urbana, IL on January 28, 1935 to Robert and Hazel Driver.

A graduate from Urbana High School in 1953, Shirley married Jack Roughton on March 22, 1953. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Urbana. She enjoyed bicycling, walking, and collecting ceramics. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 61 yrs. and 2 children. Juliene Pendleton(Don) and Steve Roughton, 2 grandsons Rusty Pendleton and Jim Pendleton, 3 great grandchildren Elaine, Gabriel and Micah. Shirley has one surviving sibling, Sharon (Bart) Brandriff of McKinney, TX. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, step father Ray Whitt and a brother Jim Whitt.

A service, officiated by Minister Mike Smith, to celebrate the life of Shirley Roughton will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 03 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview. Following burial a luncheon will be held at First United Methodist Church in Urbana after 12:30 P.M..

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 02 prior to the service also at Renner Wikoff Funeral Home, Urbana.
